  • Description of the event
  • The archaeological excavations carried out between 2003 and 2005 in the area of the former Palazzo Scotto Corsini were inspired by the cultural and food and wine event held on 28th and 29th March 2015, preceded by the official presentation of the excavation campaign at Palazzo Blu in Lungarno. Gambacorti Pisa, March 26, in the presence of the institutions and the press. The central moment of the entire event was the inauguration of the permanent multilingual panel located near the northern entrance on Lungarno Fibonacci. In the panel an in-depth study was carried out on the Church of S. Andrea in Chinzica (one of the buildings that emerged during the archaeological excavation) through an application of augmented reality.Visitors during the “archeology lesson” were able to learn more about the results of archaeological excavations carried out inside the Giardino Scotto, while guided tours for families allowed to bring even the youngest to the history of Pisa. The tastings of dishes prepared with products km0, presented by small agri-food companies belonging to the Tuscan Sapori Consortium have allowed us to retrace, through a historical excursus from antiquity to today, the main techniques of production, conservation and transformation of typical products such as oil and wine.

The garden area that houses the two gazebos, during the days of the event, to the activities for children, was animated by the presence of over seventy small visitors who took part in the educational workshops with a medieval theme and who enjoyed play with the results of their work.
